Closing the book

SENIORS:

Well, it's the last week of your high school career.  Congratulations!!  I'll avoid all the cheesy quotes and just tell you that I am so proud of each and every one of you!  I've been extremely impressed by the Class of 2016 and you've left a positive impression on me (although, there is still time to change that...but please don't).  I can't wait to see what your future holds and to hear stories of success.

For your final blog, please write a farewell to MCR-1 and leave behind a list of advice for the underclassmen.

UNDERCLASSMEN:

This is also your final blog for the year.  Did you accomplish all your goals for this school year? Why or why not?  What do you wish you could have done differently?  What are your final thoughts for this school year?

I hope everyone has an awesome summer!  Work hard.  Play hard.  See you in August :)

Your turn

I'm going to change things up this week.  I want you to create a post topic.  It can be about anything that we haven't already wrote about this year.  In addition to creating a topic, you must fully reply to one of your peers' posts.  In order to do this, you'll have to wait a day to respond (or at least til later in the school day).  This post will be worth 20pts, instead of the usual 10.  Be creative in your topics and in your responses.  One sentence will not cut it.

Have fun!

Job Interview

How would you respond to two of the most infamous job interview questions:

1)  What are your strengths?

2)  What are your weaknesses?

Please answer these just as you would in an interview (no listing or bullets...think dialog and be sure to thoroughly explain why).  I also want you to answer honestly.  Think about your skills as a potential employee.  These questions are tough, but it's time to start evaluating your skill set and building up your weak points.

Spring Break Destination

Many college students (and some HS) are hitting the beach for Spring Break this week.  What would be your #1 pick for a Spring Break getaway?  Who would travel with you?  Describe what your week in paradise would look like.

Responsibility

Were you ever given a responsibility that you couldn't handle? What did you do to get the task done?  Or, how did you get out of doing it?

The BEST!

If you could be really good at one thing (a sport, a craft, a hobby, etc) what would it be and why?

**Many of you are getting short with your responses.  Please remember 4-6 sentences and proper sentence structure for full points.  Happy Leap Day!!

Your album

If someone made an album about your life who would sing it?  List 5 songs that would be included and make them relevant to you and your life.

Miranda Lambert would sing the songs about my life.  A few of the tracks include:

1)  Momma, Momma, MOM!!!
2)  Is it the weekend yet?
3)  Coffee gets me through the day
4)  It's not gray hair, it's glitter
5)  Blessed

Raise you up right!

If you could choose to be raised by robots, dinosaurs, or aliens who would you choose?  Why?

Ouch!! That's gonna leave a mark

It seems like everyone is getting hurt lately.  This weekend we were out at my grandparents farm riding four-wheelers and my poor mom broke her foot!  After seeing Nelson's eye and Quaid hobbling around it made me wonder--what's the worst injury you've ever had?  Mine is when I tore my ACL my junior year playing basketball.  WORST paid of my life!!  So, what have you had surgery for?  Had in a cast?  Had stitched up?  With two little daredevil boys at home I'm sure a few trips to the ER is in my future :)

Appreciation Day

Happy National Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day!  No, I did not make that up (check out link --->). Bubble Wrap Day!

What is an underrated item that you are thankful for?  We all show our love for shoes, a great scarf, and even a great coffee mug, but what's something that doesn't get any love??  Show your appreciation for any underappreciated item in your life.

Remember: 4-6 sentences for full credit

New Year, New Me

Welcome back and happy New Year!! I love the start of a new year and all the possibilities it brings.   I can't wait to see what 2016 has in store for my life and for yours too!  That being said, let's talk goals.  I'm not talking New Year's Resolutions...I want some real, attainable goals!  Your first set of goals is going to be short term (by the end of this school year).  The second set will be intermediate (5 years).  And the third one will be a daily goal (something you can do daily to make your life, or someone else's life, better).

To stay accountable, I'm going to share mine with you.

Short Term:
1--Procrastinate less
2--Make working out a habit (I'm 4/4 this year)
3--Read 1 book a month

Intermediate:
1--Pay off student loan (ahhh!)
2--Have another baby (double ahhhh!)
3--Take more vacations to the beach

Daily:
Laugh or make someone else laugh
