Closing the book

SENIORS:

Well, it's the last week of your high school career.  Congratulations!!  I'll avoid all the cheesy quotes and just tell you that I am so proud of each and every one of you!  I've been extremely impressed by the Class of 2016 and you've left a positive impression on me (although, there is still time to change that...but please don't).  I can't wait to see what your future holds and to hear stories of success.

For your final blog, please write a farewell to MCR-1 and leave behind a list of advice for the underclassmen.

UNDERCLASSMEN:

This is also your final blog for the year.  Did you accomplish all your goals for this school year? Why or why not?  What do you wish you could have done differently?  What are your final thoughts for this school year?

I hope everyone has an awesome summer!  Work hard.  Play hard.  See you in August :)

  1. I have accomplish my goals because I have made it one step closer to my last year of school. My final thoughts for this school year is saying thanks to everyone that helped me get this fair in this school year.

  2. Well, as I don't have much to say to the underclassmen I will give them the single piece of advice to keep on keeping on and that it's all worth it in the end. Also the end of the year comes pretty quick when you're a senior especially when you don't have very hard classes. But as for all the staff of MCR-1 and as well as all unmentioned students and underclassmen, I say, farewell and to have a good high school career and do your work to get good grades.

  3. I did really set any goals or this school year but it was fairly good. It had its ups and downs for sure but i passed my classes so thats a good goal i guess. Not excited for next year due to the crappy schedule.

  4. I wouldn't say that I complish all my goals, but most of them. The reason that I didn't is because a lost track of time. I was trying to get ready for a college, which I sort of did, but didn't start scholarships. I have a huge issue because of the price for my college ideas. Its 60,000 dollars for the 4 years which is my bachelor degree and then I have programs on the side like business degree, tech computer repair, and something in fashion. I also want to write my own book and be a part time photographer, which would be free lance. I know that sounds like a lot, but I have most of it figure out and my main job is me being a graphic designer or any field that will hire me for that degree, the rest would be part times. You can say that I am a workaholic. So I got to start next of getting scholarships and working really hard to get money for this future of mine. I also am trying to become famous in some way as artist or something in fashion/ photographer. You can say I will take the best career out of those that give me success and fame/ money. All I need is to work hard and help my family with the college account.

I actually have no clue if I accomplished my goals or not I think I did but I don't really remember what my goals were. I think they were getting good grades so I accomplished that. Other than that goal I don't remember what else I put to accomplish. My final thought for this year were that it was pretty good and I'm glad it finally over.

  6. well, I didn't really set any goals for this year, but it's been a pretty good year so if I had set goals, I probably would have reached them.

  7. I have accomplished some of my goals that I have set but majority of them I have not. the major one I had was to just pass the 10th grade. The rest of my goals will take longer to accomplish. so the only one I have really accomplished is one.

I set some goals this year and I think I accomplished most of them. Some things I accomplished that I did not even plan on. Over all this has been a pretty good school year. I do not think I would do anything differently. This summer will probably great so can't wait for that.

I guess I accomplished my goals for this school year. The only goals that I really set for myself was for sports. I didn't get to accomplish all of my goals this year since I had knee surgery and missed most of volleyball season and the beginning of basketball season. I hope next year will be a better year. I was so excited for volleyball this year and it was really disappointing when I couldn't play. I hope to accomplish the same goals for next year.

I guess you could say that I accomplished all of my goals this school year. The only thing that I wasn't as successful as I wanted to be at was my public speaking class for state fair. I feel like I did very bad in everything in that class and hope to do better in the college classes next year. My final thoughts for this year is that it flew by so fast, and I hope senior year is great! I can't wait for this summer, I feel like it is going to be great!!!

This year has honestly flown by and I cannot wait until next year when I am a senior and on my way to college. I have accomplished literally everything I have wanted. I made a big decision that benefited me in the long run, made friends I didn't think I would and even went out and had fun like I wanted too. I ended all my dual credits with all A's except for one B and that makes me so happy. I wouldn't have done anything different and I can't wait until the future.

  12. Yes, I accomplished most of my goals this school year. I had pretty good grades this year but the school year is not over yet so they could get even better. I wish I would have taken Mr. Dicus at the beginning of the year but otherwise I would not have done anything different. I am ready for my junior year to get here. It is going to be tough though.

This year I have accomplished all of my goals. I basically tried to balance sports, school, and work. This year has flown by and been the best year in highschool so far. I have passed all of my classes with A's and one B. Of course there is room for improvement, I would like to make all A's and be a better athlete. Junior year was definitely fun. I have made great friends and really appreciate them! I can't wait for an even better senior year.

This year went by super quick! I didn't really try this year though I slacked on my work a lot. But these past few weeks I've started to try better. I feel like it was an easy year though I just didn't try much. I'm super excited for summer though and to see what happens.

I'm pretty sure I accomplished most of my goals this year. I'm passing all my classes, which was my main concern. This year went by way too fast. We just started the school year didn't we? It seems like it. Each year goes by faster than the one before.

Wow it's finally here. I am actually graduating from this hell hole (jk). Still I'm never going to forget all the good times I had here. My advice to the underclassmen is pretty simple: Senior year everybody love you like I got away with a lot of stuff this year just because I'm a senior. Classes during your senior year are stupidly easy most of the time I just pick my butt and pretend to do stuff. I have other advice to give but I don't want write it where everyone can see. I'm glad to be graduating but I'm still going to miss the time here.

  17. Well I've been an Indian, a Patriot, a Raider and best of all a Bulldog. Being here has helped me grow as a person. So thanks MRC-1 for making me feel welcome and at home. See you in four years.

And to the underclassmen the best advice I can give you is make the est of it. Don't be afraid to go outside the box. And believe me it goes a lot faster than you think. Also don't feel pressured to make a choice in a career, you've got time.

I seriously can't believe this is my last week of high school. I'm sure that I will miss it, but right now I am super excited to graduate. I think college is going to be really interesting, and I am greatly looking forward to only having class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So, farewell MCR-1! What journey this has been. Thanks for all the stories and memories! I will cherish them always!

To the underclassmen, you have no idea how fast high school seems when you get to this point. Whatever you do (sports, clubs, etc.) enjoy it to the fullest. I know the thing I'll miss the most is playing basketball with my team, so just enjoy the activities you love while they last. And, most of all, gain knowledge and experience to better yourself as a person. Good luck guys!

I have only been in Stover for a short period of time but, I've enjoyed it here. The people here are nice and truly a good example of a close, small, and loving community. My advice to the Bull Dog Pups is that they should always continue to strive for greatness and success whether it be in sports or education level. One must never belittle one another to continue keeping this vicinity feeling like home! Good Bye Stover, thank you for having me!

  20. I would have to say I accomplished all my goals. I kept my grades up and that was all I really needed to do. I can't believe that this school year is almost over, it went by really fast. My final thought this year is that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I'm still glad it's almost over.

  21. Well...Guess this is the end of Junior year. I'm really glad that it came to an end, this year has been so stressful and really disappointing. I hate that I didn't do so well on my dual credit class, online mishappens that make me sick, my high school grades could've been better, I know it. Volleyball was a great experience this year though, it was most definitely my favorite thing I've done this year. Found a new love I didn't think I'd have. Right next to volleyball was winning prom princess, guess that was a nice surprise..I just want to be done. Summer is where I'm hoping to have my fun and enjoy it, just like senior year...I want to have a blast, be active and school and just leave a good impression once I leave...so many worries..

This year i accomplished most of everything i wanted to. I did not fail or anything so that was good and i scored my first varsity goal so that was also pretty good. I really did not set a whole lot of goals so there was not anything to fail at so guess overall it was pretty good.

I am pretty excited that this is my last week of high school. I'm not sure if I will actually miss coming to school but I know I will miss playing sports. It has been a great experience but I'm ready for a change. My advice to the underclassmen is to just enjoy it while it lasts. It seems like you'll never be done but it will be over before you know it.

I think I reached almost all of the goals I set out for. The one big one that I'm disappointed I never achieve, was to be All-Conference in baseball. Which I think I could have gotten but got hurt and ruined my chances. All in all, it's been a good year, hoping to finish it off strong.

  25. This year has went faster than I expected. It definitely felt different than previous years. Last year felt sort of depressing, and my freshman year went really bad for me. I didn't really accomplish any goals because all the goals I have set are long term ones. Despite that, this year was really interesting, and I had a very good time. I am excited for Boys State this summer, and I'm excited to get a head start on college next year.

I have been here for a decade now, and it seems like second grade was just a few years ago, but then it also feels like centuries. I've had a lot of neat adventures and done a lot of stuff. I probably won't miss this building or the smells but I might miss a few of the people. My advice to the underclassmen is to keep your homework manageable, work hard, find trustworthy friends, and lastly just chill. A lot of you take things way to seriously and I think you could save yourself a lot of stress if you just let the little things go, you don't want to hit 18 and already have grey hairs. Good bye, and good luck.

Goodbye Stover! I have been waiting for this moment ever since I was a Freshman, and now that it's finally here, graduation, I have come to realize that it is to soon. It feels like just yesterday, katy and I laughing through the hallways in 8th grade. It feels like just yesterday I fractured my leg in 6th grade. It feels like just yesterday for everything, but in reality it has been years, and now I'm an adult. I'm soon to be a high school graduate, on my way to explore the world, find myself, and accomplish my dreams, and make them reality, and yet here I am with one line of advice. My advice is don't slack off, because in the end it sucks!

Good Bye Stover it's been a great year!!! I have accomplished most of my goals this years but there is a couple of things that I would like to accomplish next year. The first thing would be to make it to sectionals and maybe even state next year in golf. The other thing I would like to do would be to make all A's and B's next year. My sophomore has flew by but it has been a good year.

My first year at Stover was pretty good. I made a lot of new friends and had some fun times. At the beginning of the year my goal was to have good grades and, so far, I've had pretty good grades. I am so ready for summer. I plan to go to the lake a lot and hangout with my friends.

    Dear Mcr1,
Thank you for all the wonderful memories of mystery meat lunch and teachers who have nothing better to do than make fun of their students. All the fun times trying to distract teachers from our lessons.I've had some great times here and I will always remember my time here. To the underclassmen remember procrastinate until the day it's due then get it done.

I wasn't here for long but I've made lots of friends here and every other high school I've been too. It was a very memorable year and I can't believe the end it already here. It doesn't feel real yet but I'm sure it will this Sunday. Its going to be kind of emotional for me since I've always looked forward to going back to school when the summer is over and seeing everybody I'm used to seeing every year. My advice to underclassmen is to keep doing what you're doing just don't slack. It really sucked to stress about a class I could've gotten done when I had the time to get it done.

  36. Yea I did most of the things I wanted to do. But this year has gone by fast. Which I guess is a good thing, I didn't do something of the things I wantde to either. IT was fun will it lasted. So it as a fun year and I hope tha the next ones are even better.

I didn't set a lot of goals this school year other than try to fix some of the problems at this school, but that didn't happen. Overall though, it's been a pretty good year and I've accomplished other things. All in all, I hope next year will be as good as this year and hopefully the people that run this school will get their stuff together over the summer so our education won't be as terrible.
