In honor
In honor of Veteran's Day this Wednesday, I want you to take a few minutes and reflect on why this day is important. Do you know anyone that has served or is currently serving in the armed forces? Even if you don't, you have to appreciate all of those that have put their life on the line for our freedom. Express your thanks, concern, appreciation to the heroes that serve to protect our country.
Veteran's day is not really a day to celebrate in my opinion. Most veterans spend this day grieving over their lost comrades. Some families have lost many family members to the military. They also tend to spend the day grieving. I know a few veterans, one who recently passed away, and my neighbor. I also know recently retired veterans who are fairly young. All in all this should be a day for support not celebration.
ReplyDeleteVeterans day is important because its the time we get to thank our soldiers that have saved so many lives. I am so thankful that they risked their lives for the people of America. I appreciate the time that they went to war and that they put our lives before us. Thank you veterans for risking your lives for the people.

Veterans day is a day to let us all give thanks and appreciation to the veterans that have served for our freedom. I know quite a few people in my own family that have served in the military. My great uncle, my great grandfather, my great great uncle, and a few others. I will always love them as family and commend them for everything they had done to protect our country. This day is so important to us because these veterans deserve their own day and so much more.
I think that our veterans are incredibly discredited. They go overseas to make sure all those crazy dudes don't make it over here. My uncle was a marine and he served in iraq, he was fortunate to never acquire any injuries. My Great Uncle served in WWII, he fought in the battle of iwo jima and made it home. So I give thanks to all men that make this country possible.

Veteran's day is a day to show our respect for the veterans who have fought for this country and the ones that are still fighting. On veteran's we should say thank you to them and that we appreciate everything that they do. My stepdad is a veteran and he was in the Air Force. He is one of the most important people in my life and he is probably the toughest person I know. I thank him for everything he does and appreciate him a lot. We thank veterans on this day and tell them how thankful we are to have them to fight for this country and protect us.
Why Veteran's day is important is that people died trying to keep our freedom and trying to keep other from taking our freedom. My Uncle's friend has whent to the army. I want to thank all the worriers the ones that are still alive and the ones that have lost their life protecting everyone in the U.S. We owe all our thanks two them.
ReplyDeleteVeterans day is a time I think to care for the lost ones and honor the ones that are still alive. Both sides my great grandpas on my dad and moms side had both served in WWII they both had come home not hurt. But both had passed later on from old age but anyway. I believe that veterans day should be more appreciated because some people don't even care about veterans day but they should. Because the people we honor they have lost there life's for us or fought for us.

Veteran's Day is a day to honor those who have died and are still alive. My grandpa had served in the Korean War. I thought he was so cool because he drove a tank when he was in war. I thought that made him so tough. I also knew how hard it was for him and my grandma when he was in war. I think Veteran's is a great day because our Veteran's should get the honor and respect that they deserve. Many people are don't care about Veteran's Day and I think that should be changed. For example, when we have our assembly at school many of the kids want to talk and don't pay any attention to what's going on. I think that is very disrespectful to the veteran's that have died and who are still alive. They risked their lives for their country and should get every ounce of honor a respect that they deserve.

My opinion isnt about my personal relationship with a veteran or people in my family serving, its about how badly most people who work day in and day out to serve a place that hardly appreciated or respected them. They're so many poor veterans and homeless cuz the government is one huge selfish Sh*@. I think unless you drink your life away on purpose, then serving your country should guarantee a short pass in life, putting you life on the line and all

Veterans Day to me is the most important day, because without the veterans we would not be wear we are today. These people needed to be recognized and rewarded for their courage and bravery. My great grandpa is a WWll veteran and I always ask him questions about it and it's the coolest thing to hear the stories of the war. I thank the veterans for their service.

Celebrating Veterans Day is very important because it lets all of those veterans know that we appreciate what they did for our country. My grandpa served in the Army for a few years. Those people all risked their lives for us so this is just a little bit of what we can do to show our appreciation. These people deserve every bit of respect that we can give them.
In my family there is quite a few people who have served, are serving, or are going to serve. My great uncles and both my grandpas served in the Vietnam war. My step dad served on the navy. I'd like to thank them for all they have done weather it was a lot or just a little. I'd also like to thank everybody else that has served because without them America would be free.

Veterans day is a very important holiday. It is a day for our veterans to be recognized for how great they are. They made a great sacrifice for our country and the people living inside it. They should have more than just one day of recognition. I have several people in family that have served in the forces. I am very proud of them. They are all great people.

We uncle Jason was in the war that we are in now and my Grandpa was in World War 2. On this day we should tell everyone that serviced in the military for should tell them thank you
Veterans Day is a very important day to our country. We wouldn't be able to be the free living people we are today and get to live our daily lives like this. I only have one family member, Kelsey she is in the National Guard. I know multiple other people in it but there's just too many to list. But they all have done us a lot of good and made our lives better then what they could be.

I think every day should be honored but Veterans Day is a pretty emotional day for me since I've had a lot of family members not come home. It pisses me off when people don't take in consideration that other people's family gave their lives so they can go to sleep at night without a worry in the world.

Veterans day is important because it recognizes people who have fought and/or died for America. It gives them a whole day for people to thank them. I don't know very many veterans but the ones I do know are pretty cool.

Many of my family members have served and fought for America. Veterans day is important because its a way to show our thanks for those who protected us and fought for our freedom. With that said I also believe that its a day for grieving for the veterans who died fighting or who lost a friend. It is a good but extremely sad day in my opinion.

Veterans day is important to many people not just because it symbolizes how much we appreciate the men and women that serve our country but it also shows how much we care for the ones who have fallen fighting for our country it shows that we will support them just as much as they support and fight for us. I don't know to many veterans but i do know a few i an Uncle who's dad (Jack Klein) served in Vietnam and is still standing to this day which is very very surprising because he was in the marines. I also know the staff that used to wok here and also some substitutes. they are very nice and respectful people.

Veteran's Day is an important day because it recognizes the men and women who have risked, or even given, their lives to defend this country. Veterans should always be treated with the upmost honor and respect, but on this day, they also receive the recognition they deserve. My grandpa and few of my great uncles fought in wars, but I am lucky to be able to say that I have never lost a family member to war. I love that the school has a Veteran's Day Assembly and I am glad that I am part of the National Honor Society so I can help make it happen. Overall, I think Veteran's Day is extremely important so we can give our veterans the thanks and recognition that they have earned.
Courage. What is courage? Courage is fighting for something you believe in. Courage is believing and fighting for your country. Courage is risking your own life just so that everybody back home can live happy, safe, free lives. Courage is rare, but every veteran, or soldier has courage. They put their lives on the line for all of us. Are we even thankful? Most people don't care, and or don't recognize how much veterans have gone through just so that we can all carry on with our normal lives. Veterans that fought for us now wake up to nightmares of the wars they fought in. Although they aren't in war anymore, they still suffer and go through the same war ever night. They suffer from horrible nightmare of being attacked, they wake up screaming in fear for their lives, they're still in a war. For them it never ends. Would you walk into a room knowing that you stand a great chance of dying? Would you walk into a room full of soldiers shooting at you, throwing grenades, trying to kill you? The answer is no! most people wouldn't purposely walk into those situations knowing that they could die, because most people don't have the courage. Their courage is something we do/should celebrate. Their courage should be recognized. Their courage should be respected. Without their courage, we would not be here. Without their courage we would't have women rights, African Americans wouldn't be equal, we wouldn't have the world that we know today. Without their courage the world would be completely different. So thank you. Thank you for fighting for my right to vote. Thank you for allowing my colored friends to be equal and treated fairly. Thank you for giving me the right to get a job. Thank you for showing that women deserve all the same freedoms, and rights as men. Thank you for your courage!

ReplyDeleteMy grandpa was in the army. I don't know what war he fought in exactly but i do know if snuck over from Germany during WW2 when he was like 16 years old. He actually was in Hitler youth and gave a rose to him, i don't know how cool that actually is. I respect all the people who serve in the armed forces. it takes a great deal of courage and will power to actually risk your life for people you don't actually know. if it wasn't for everyone who does this for us we wouldn't be were we are today.

I know some people currently in and serving, some of whom have served for several years. I also know a few people who would like to serve in the military someday. The only family member that I know of that has served is my great uncle, Junior, he served in the Navy in World War II. As for the thanking, no one simple way to write can express the admiration and gratitude that I have for these honorable people. A thank you just simply is not nearly enough. They have more courage than anyone else in the world, especially me.

Veteran's Day is so much more than just listing who has been in the service and clapping. While we just think of veterans as good people and ones who we clap for, they mean more than that and have put in so much more than we can imagine. It takes a lot to serve in the military. Not only does it take the physical demands, it also takes inner courage and dedication. It would take a lot of courage and guts to fight for your country, knowing that their life is on the line. I know that my dad had an uncle that served in the force, and was apparently a hero. There are papers online and some documents that my dad has, that tells all the heroic work he had done and the awards he got. I think this is something to be proud of because it takes courage and heart to do something like this. My mom was in the force as well, although she did not battle and I do not think she knew what she was getting into. Veteran's Day is a very special day, and I think it deserves all of our respect.

Veterans day is very important because it honors those who put their life on line for our country to be free. In my family's history I have had several people who served in the armed forces but have passed away. My grandpa and my dad both served in the military and I look up to them for that. To be a soldier takes so much courage and one couldn't imagine what they go through in a day. Thank you soldiers!

Veterans Day is very important because the people who risked their lives to defend us and make our country free. I know many people who have served our country and many people who are veterans. My dad, aunt, uncle, cousin, and some friends who have gone in the army or something to help our country. My dad and aunt used to be in the navy, my uncle went into the army and he is now in the national guard. I think letting the people who have problems now because of going to war and putting their lives in danger should be thanked at least once a year. They should be told how important they are and were to our country and still how important they are to us now. What they did for us is a great honor and they should know how thankful we are for them do give us the privilege to call our country ours and that it and we are free.
I give my condolences to tall the soldiers that gave their lives, Thanks to them we are free, and we get all our freedoms. Veterans day is so important because the people that gave up their lives and defended us, so we could be free should need to been known, and i think it is the saddest thing that some of the people that served our country are homeless, foodless, and have the hardest lifes. God Bless.

I am very thankful for the men and women who have risked/gave their lives for our country and I am very proud to be in a country with such noble people. One thing I am unhappy about though is the way veterans are treated. They lay everything on the line for us, yet there are starving, homeless veterans out there. Veterans deserve to be treated with the utmost respect in our country, yet they aren't. I also wish that the nations in this world could put aside their petty arguments so our innocent men and women won't have to give their lives to keep our country safe.

ReplyDeleteVeterans day is a very important day. I think that too many people are just blowing it off and not really thinking about it. Yes, it is a day to be thankful for our soldiers and what they do to save our country.I have a uncle currently in the military and I have many other uncles that are now veterans. I have talked to these people and the experiences that they go through are actually really depressing. Some having PTSD, seeing their best friend die or just having to fight for your life is actually kind of scary and I don't think that enough of people will take this into consideration when they think about our veterans.

ReplyDeleteOne of the things I am most thankful for about living in this country is my freedom. My freedom to make my own opinions and speak my mind about it freely. But there are people in other places around the world that jeopardize my freedom. They push for a communistic agenda and kill people for their individualism. That's why I am thankful for our veterans. They have been the ones putting their lives on the line for not only my freedom and yours, but for our lives, too. Whether they were on the front lines being shot at, or behind the scenes aiding their friends, veterans did and still do what they can in order to protect our country.
