Happy Columbus Day!!

In 1492, he sailed the ocean blue.  No, we're not going to spend time writing about ol' Chris C. today but I do want to take a stroll through history.  If you could go back in time and spend one day with a great figure of history who would it be and why?  Be sure to elaborate and talk about what they did to make them famous and why you would want to spend the day with them.

  1. I would love to spend a day with Sacagawea. She is a very strong and smart. I would love to ask her what she had to go through and how she felt about helping Christopher Columbus. I would like to now how she did the voyage with a baby. I think shes very tough to go on along voyage for Christopher Columbus with a child and also gave direction mostly on foot.

  2. I'd probably go back to the time of Jesse James, not did he have a big impact on history, but he is from our area. Plus what young guy doesn't want to be an outlaw running down trains, and sticking up banks with a six-gun? Maybe Jesse would tell me where his treasure is and set me for life. All in all going back to the time of the outlaw with Jesse James.

  3. I would go back to the Renaissance and spend the day with Leonardo Da Vinci. Not because of his art but because of his inventions. I could show him a couple things as well as he could show me some things. Except my stuff would blow his outta the water. But I would have to be careful because just showing him a paper airplane there could be major events that didn't happen, or things would have happened, and possibly many other things. All in all Da Vinci would show me lots of great things.

Honestly, I have always wanted to meet Napoleon. Because for one he is short like me so he understands the struggle haha. Also, he was very good at strategy. He always had a plan and the best part about that is, he always had the right plan. He was also very good at getting ahead of his enemies. No matter what they had planned he was always 2-3 steps ahead of them, and I respect that. Even if sometimes he wasn't doing it for the right reason. He didn't like very many people at all. But I don't know I feel like we would get along. Although either way he was always fighting someone so I would most likely get stuck in thew middle of it but it would be alright

If I could go back and spend a day with a famous person in history it would be Abraham Lincoln. I think he is a really cool person and it would be awesome to get to hangout with him for a day. I think that when he was president he was apart of a lot of things that shaped us to be how we are today. I would want to ask him how things went down the day he died and if he knew something was wrong? Also, if he was president today what would he do? Abe Lincoln would be an awesome to hangout with for a day.

If I could go back in history, I would go back to when Jessie James roamed the Earth. I would like to hang out with him because in my opinion he is pretty interesting to learn about. Also I could find out where hes hiding all of that money he got from robbing bank and trains. Another thing I would be able to see is how exactly a bank or a train robbery went down and how people got robbed by the great Jessie James. I definitely would ask a lot of questions like, how he felt after he robbed someone, or why did he hide his money so well that even Zee didn't even know where it was.

If I could go back in history and spend the day with a famous person I would probably spend the day with Jesse James. He is famous for being a great outlaw. He was very smart and used great techniques for things I would consider not the best way to use his techniques. He used them to rob banks successfully and still manage to be claimed as a hero. I would like to spend the day with him to learn things about him that people didn't and still don't understand about him. I am curious to find out and know how he actually was. Everyone said he was a hero but some say that he was insane and cruel. I would like to learn how he actually got away with so much bad things and still called a hero. As long as I didn't get killed or hurt by him or his gang for that day and I was included as like "one of them" for the day, I would like to spend the day with the famous Jesse James.

Well the person I would like to hang out with would probably have to be "honest" Abe cause we all know we have told at least one lie in our life time. Not saying he's like a bad person but I would like to see how his life actually was and see how honest of a person he actually was. I would ask him how it was actually was during his childhood, because I know his life wasn't like how the history books describe it cause usually only a few stories they told about back then wasn't even close to how they actually were. They were more horrific and usually didn't go down how they said it did.

If I could go back in time and spend the day with a famous person, I would pic Jessie James. Jessie James was famous for being a robber. He had his own gang that included his brother Frank and the younger brothers. Jessie really wan't that bad of a guy, but he had a terrible temper. He didn't have a very good up bringing which probably didn't help with his temper. Him and his gang robed trains and bank. He was the first person to rob a bank in daylight and got away with it. People in Missouri were fascinated with him. A new journalist made him sound as like a hero. He said that Jessie, was like Robin Hood. He stole from the rich and gave to the poor. But that wasn't true. He would give money to his family and sometimes his friends if they needed it and keep the rest for himself. I think it would be interesting to talk to Jessie and to be able to talk to him and ask him why he did what he did.

If I could go back and meet and/or hand with anyone from the past, I'd want to meet The first Sumerian King. Not because he was in anyway specifically important, Just anyone from that empire would do. I'd want to meet them to understand the very first cultures, and the very first languages that existed in humankind. According to ancient lore, the reason society progressed at all was because of a visit from beings from other wolds, you might see them as statues in Sumerian pyramids. As a kid I was soooo interested in how these people lived, and their language and how they spoke it, its one of the reasons language and alines interest me at all now days. The most interesting thing for me to want to learn from someone back then, would be their architecture, because their cities looked so beautiful, I wanted to build some theme based stuff myself.

  11. If I could go back in time to spend a day with someone in history,I think it would be Marilyn Monroe. She is the beauty icone of American and I just couldn't imagine the times and days she went through. No way could everyone think that she was gorgeous or that she was a big deal at her time. We all have haters, so what was her time like? What did she have to go through to get where she made it? She even today inspires girls that and helps them believe that they are beautiful. I know she didn't fight a war or anything but I believe that she still had a huge impact on America.

If I could go back in time I would go to the 1800's. It seemed a lot simpler back in those days. You rode horses to town, didn't care about looks, etc. But there was a lot more hardships. Like sicknesses without cures, people died younger, not as much education, theres just tons of things. It would be rough but a lot simpler.

If I could go back and spend the day with a historical figure it would definitely be John F. Kennedy. JFK was my favorite president, even though he died before I was born. I would just like to go back and see what times were like back then, I would like to see if I could stop Lee Harvey Oswald from shooting him at the parade. JFK died at a very young and I would like to have seen what it would have been like if he would have survived and stayed president. This is why I would like to go back and visit JFK.

If I could go back in time and spend the day with a famous person, I would pick Elvis Presley. Elvis was famous for his music and his acting in the 1950's on the radio, TV, and the silver screen. He still continues to be one of the biggest names in rock and roll. My dad and my grandpa have always been really big fans.

If I could go back in time and spend a day with someone it would be JFK. I would love to see what one of the greatest presidents ever went through in a day. He definitely helped build the foundation of what America is today. I would like to see the build up and all the activities that led to the assassination of JFK. I wonder if someone going back in time could stop him from actually getting shot. JFK is definitely the guy that I would like to meet if I could.

If I could spend the day with Abraham Lincoln. I think it would be awesome to get his perspective of everything that happened during his presidency from the war, abolishing slavery, to catching a bullet with his head. I'd like to hear what all went into making those decisions just being in his presence would be amazing he is literally one of my idols, it's weird I know.

I'd like to hang out with Vincent Price because he's the greatest actor that ever lived. He was in a whole library of classics like House on Haunted Hill and The Last Man on Earth. Most people know him from Michael Jackson's Thriller where he does a voiceover and his awesome laugh. Vincent Price is just friggin awesome.

There are so many great figures that did so many things for us and fought for us I could never choose just one. A couple that I would like to meet would be like Abraham Lincoln, John F. If I could go back in time and spend a day with a great figure of history, I would choose C.S. Lewis. He is an incredible Christian role model for all believers, and is the author of some incredible books, such as The Chronicles of Narnia. His story is an interesting one. He was a Christian as a child, but became an atheist as a teenager and young adult. Not soon after, he was encouraged to come back to his faith by his best friend, and my favorite author, J.R.R. Tolkien. We would absolutely have to meet up with Tolkien, too. I would just love to hear Lewis talk about his experiences and listen to any advice he would give me. Some of my favorite quotes are from C.S. Lewis, and it would be awesome to have met him in person.

If I could go back in time to talk to any particular historical figure I would want to talk to Alexander Hamilton. He grew up poor with nothing, he built himself up to being the chief of staff for George Washington. I would want to ask him what sparked his interest in politics and how he developed into the man he was before he died. I think that his story of adversity is incredible to say the least. I would love to know how he was able to rise above his poor conditions to become the man we read about in the history books.

  29. If i could go back in time i would just go back to like the 1700's. Just to see how thing were I wouldn't pick just a specific person to be around. I would want to see just everything and anything just to get the feel of how things were then . because in ways they seem to have had it easier back then and in others it seems like they had it harder than anyone in any certain time of history. That's what I would do because i wouldn't be able to just pick one person to be around so why not just be around a whole town of historical people and things.

I would spent time with Alfred Nobel. He is the inventor of dynamite and began the Nobel prize. He decided to start the Nobel prize after he learned how he would be remembered. Often times, the press will have template stories for famous people who might die soon. What's really weird is when these obituaries are released early. This happened to Nobel whenever his brother died. The newspapers released an obituary for Alfred instead of his brother. They talked about how Alfred spent his life's research finding ways to destroy, speaking about his invention of dynamite. This caused Nobel to want to spend his money giving back to the world. Thus he created the Nobel prize to honor people for the contributions they bring to the world.

If I could go back in time and meet any person, I would go back to the 1960s and meet Jim Morrison. As most of you know, Jim Morrison was the lead singer of The Doors, which spawned such great hits as "Light My Fire", "Break on Through (To The Other Side)", and "Hello, I Love You". I would want to meet him because he was a rather unusual person and had a revolutionary impact on not only music, but society. He was also incredibly intelligent, and I would like to listen to some of his opinions on certain topics. Finally, I would also like to know his song writing process. To sum it up, I'd love to go back to the 60s and meet rockstar and poet Jim Morrison.
